Forum: opensource_audio Subject: derivations, Speex and Spoken Word

First of all, a big "thank you" for this great service!

I sometimes upload some audiobooks... for that, I use the MP3 and SPEEX codecs, www.speex.org - it would be nice if the latter could also be recognized and not shown as an additional file of unknown type :-)

Now that I saw that the derivations of my VBR MP3 consist in a 64kbps MP3 of the same size and in an Ogg Vorbis file of the double size, I'd like to remove them. Clicking the "don't do derivatons" button is sufficient for deleting them?

Finally, I noticed that the "Spoken Word" section is not listed in the "Detailed Musical Genre" list, unlike the other big sections like Rock, Blues, Country etc.

Best wishes,
Viktor.

Hi all, I have been reading a lot of the comments made in this forum and find them most fascinating. I am teacher whom teaches both disabled and normal able children. I find the use of audio books a good teaching aid, whilst being a good resource.

I know of a gentleman who supplies me with audio books. For more details contact Jeff at . audiobookservice@hotmail.co.uk

Many Thanks Joan
